On Tuesday, Brother Martin Partners in Mission participated in a Day of Reflection, exploring the origins of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans leading all the way to Brother Martin High School. Faculty and staff enjoyed prayer led by our President Gregory Rando '77 and Assistant Principal for Student Services Kelly Alexander, a welcome by Principal Ryan Gallagher '00, and an introduction and background information by Ed Branley ’76. Our Partners in Mission then left campus in small groups for a pilgrimage of sorts across New Orleans. Partners visited Annunciation Catholic Church, St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Corner of Barracks and Chartres Streets (the former location of St. Aloysius Academy), and a few other locations of BOSH school significance. Our faculty is continually encouraged to embrace the charism of Father André Coindre as Partners in Mission with the understanding that "it is not sufficient just to instruct our students; we must also afford them a formation which enables them to improve the earthly city by furthering the reign of Christ" (Brothers of the Sacred Heart Rule of Life 151).
