The Friends of the Louisiana State Archives hosted a juried high school student art show celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. Students from schools in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, and Orleans Parish submitted works of art for the contest. Twenty-eight works were selected, and sixteen of Mr. Donald Guidry’s Art II and Art III students' works were selected. On Tuesday, April 23, Mr. Guidry and these Crusaders travelled to the Louisiana State Archives to view the student art show, the 1984 World Exhibition Exhibit, and a tour of the State Archives. Congratulations to senior Casey Thibodeaux for winning first place and Keith Dejean for winning Curators Choice Honorable Mention. Both students also received a cash award. We would like to thank the Louisiana State Archives and the Friends of the Louisiana State Archives for the opportunity to showcase the artwork of our Crusaders!
