Three Brother Martin seniors and members of the Class of 2025 have earned recognition in the Scholastic Writing Awards, the nation's longest-running and most prestigious annual awards program for creative teens.
Benjamin Levy '25, Luke Guillot '25, and Myles Monzon '25 each received honors in the first round of competition for the South Region.
According to Mr. Tom Leggett, "Ben Levy’s critical essay entitled “The Dangers of Police Militarization” was awarded the Gold Key, which moves his essay to the national round of competition where entries are considered for several national awards. National Medalists will be announced on March 26th.
Judges assess works that exemplify the Awards’ values of originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal voice or vision. Since 1923, luminaries who have served as judges include Langston Hughes, Robert Frost, Judy Blume, Paul Giamatti, Francine Prose, David Sedaris, Lesley Stahl, Nikki Giovanni, and many others. Past winners include Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates, and Andy Warhol."
We would like to congratulate these Crusaders for this outstanding accomplishment in writing.
