The Brother Martin Class of 2023 celebrated their final day of class as students of Brother Martin High School today. The day began with a delicious breakfast of crimson and gold donuts. Then, our seniors participated in a liturgy celebrated by Fr. Dennis Hayes ‘78, who stressed the importance of keeping the cross at the center of one's life as well as the idea that who or what you spend your time with is what you love. After the liturgy, guest speaker and 2022 Brother Martin Alumnus of the Year Dr. Kraig de Lanzac '86 told our Crusaders that to become leaders they must "show up, work hard, keep coming, be humble, and be sure to lift others up." Our seniors experienced an exciting field day and a delicious lunch in the Brother Mark Thornton Terrace afterward (generously provided by the Alumni and Advancement Office).
We are so proud of these incredibly hard-working, talented young men. We will look forward to the wonderful things they will do in their lives, and we know that they will use what they have learned in these hallowed halls to help others, to lead, and to guide. As our guest speaker Dr. de Lanzac imparted: "You will be tested in life, and Brother Martin and your parents have prepared you for that test - how will you respond?"
Good luck with your final exams next week, seniors - let's finish strong!
