On Thursday, May 9th, the Brother Martin Chorus held its annual Spring concert at Transfiguration of the Lord Church. Members of the fifth period Chorus opened the program with the Ghanian folk song “Obwisana.” Their performance also included “This Train,” an American gospel song, “Rest Not,” and Rollo Dilworth’s arrangement of “Shine on Me.”

Students who participated in the LMEA Solo and Ensemble Assessment and the LSU State Vocal Rally performed their prepared vocal solos. Benjamin Levy '25 sang “Passing By,” followed by Jack Norwood’s '27 performance of “Steal Away.” Liam Turner '24 performed “Wayfaring Stranger” to close out the solo section of the concert.

Sixth period Chorus members performed a varied program which included Aaron Copland’s “Zion’s Walls,” “Sweet Rivers,” “Kate,” with solos sung by Landon Crescioni '25, Garic Solis '27, and Toby Alfonso '27, “Journey On,” and the South African song “Tshotsholoza,” which featured Roman Patton '27 as soloist.

Members of the Alumni Chorus sang the Irish folk song “Carrickfergus,” and joined the sixth period Chorus members to sing the Simon & Garfunkel hit “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

To conclude the concert, all current and alumni members of the Chorus were joined by other alumni audience members to sing “O Sacred Heart.”

Our sincere thanks go to Mr. Kevin Estoque for serving as percussionist for the concert, to Transfiguration of the Lord Church for hosting the concert, and to everyone who attended to support our program.
