Today, Brother Martin High School celebrated the Solemnity of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary...
Debbie Broussard, our Assistant Principal for Academics, introduced our liturgy today by calling to mind the essential role of Mary, the Mother of God, and of all our hardworking, dedicated Crusader moms within the Brother Martin family:
"We gather together to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We celebrate that Mary, chosen by God, reverses the sin of Eve. Because of Mary's obedience, all nations now know of God's salvation.
We also recognize the role of "mothers" in our own lives, at home, and within our community, especially our Crusader moms here at Brother Martin. God's graces allow these women to answer the call to care for all children of the Lord..."
Mrs. Broussard continued, "As we wait with courage and trust during this season of Advent and we begin the Church's new liturgical year, we look inward and ask ourselves the following questions:
Mary answered her call from God with courage and trust and accepted her role in the Incarnation. In a posture of waiting and responding, let us enter into this experience with an open heart and mind."
