September 30, 2020 marked the third and final year of the bicentennial celebration of our founding mission for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. The bicentennial celebration spanned three years to include the initial anniversary of the founding of the Pieux Secours, the first “providence” created for young boys in order to give them shelter while teaching them a trade. What we celebrated today throughout the institute is the actual day almost 200 years ago that ten young men professed vows as the first Brothers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary at the Chapel of Notre Dame de Fourviere in Lyon, France. 

As part of our celebration, the liturgy included opening remarks from both the provincial of the province of the United States, Br. Ronald Hingle, and the Superior General of the Institute, Br. Mark Hilton.
