Brother Martin beats East St. John 80-77 in triple overtime

Thursday night, the Crusaders played the East St. John Wildcats in the second round of the Sugar Bowl CYO Tournament.  After regulation and two overtime periods, this game was still undecided.  With seconds left in triple overtime, Jabbar Singleton drove to the hoop and flipped the ball to a wide-open Patrick McCree, who laid it in off the glass giving Brother Martin a 79-77 lead. The Crusaders would go on to win 80-77.  Leading scorers for the Crusaders were Jabbar Singleton (25), Jordan Cornish (19), Jalen Gray (17), and Jordan Lumpkins (14).

The victory puts Brother Martin in the semifinals of the Sugar Bowl CYO Tournament. The Crusaders will play at home against Jesuit on Friday at 6:00.  Go ‘Saders!
