Thirteen members of the Brother Martin Academic Games Team competed in the 2024 AGLOA National Tournament in Atlanta, GA, from April 19 - 22, with nearly 1,000 competitors. The Middle Division team of Lucas Dobson, Robert Kennedy, Christian Matthews, David Nguyen, and Gus Rivenburgh earned medals in the On-Sets competition. Also, Rivenburgh placed 11th in the game of Presidents.
Seniors Samuel Siegel and Andrew Taulli were part of a New Orleans conglomerate team that took 4th in On-Sets, 5th in Equations, and 6th in the Sweepstakes competition. Siegel, earning a perfect score, advanced to individual playoffs, ultimately winning the Senior Division On-Sets National Championship after multiple sudden-death shake-offs.
Siegel was also recognized as one of six graduates to receive the AGLOA Outstanding Senior Award for his work with his team and local league, his performance throughout his Academic Games career, as well as his dedication to the Academic Games program.
AGLOA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to developing “Thinking Kids” of character, integrity, and excellence. AGLOA provides a series of Academic Games competitions throughout the nation resulting in a national championship tournament. These tournaments reward students' academic achievements and challenge them in mathematics, language arts, and social studies.
