On Saturday January 14, 2017, seniors Dominic Brocato and Les Levy, Jr. each received a scholarship from the American Italian Renaissance Foundation at the 2017 Louisiana American Italian Sports Hall of Fame Awards Banquet. The requirements for receiving the scholarship are that the senior applicants be of Italian heritage and have participated in sports at the high school level. To apply for the scholarship, applicants needed to submit information about their varsity athletic participation, their academics, and their involvement in extracurricular activities.
Dominic is a member and leader of various organizations at Brother Martin which include Chorus, Cheerleading, Football, Ministers of Holy Communion, Student Ambassadors, as well as senior class president of the Student Council. Les is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Student Ministry, Key Club, and NHS, as well as president of Student Ambassadors at Brother Martin. Dominic and Les are outstanding young men who not only excel in their studies, but also have excelled outside the classroom through their service to the Brother Martin school community.
