Bowling Wins Thriller Over Rummel

15778559283_97d03f7298_cBrother Martin looked to defend it New Orleans Prep Bowling League championship against the 2012 and 2013 State champion Rummel Raiders at Colonial Lanes in Harahan Thursday afternoon.

Things did not look good for the Crusaders who trailed Rummel 6-2 after game one shooting 1,189 to their 1,226.  The Raiders also took game two 5-3.  Trailing 11-5 at the start of the final game, the Crusaders won the final game 6-2.  In the final game, Brother Martin bowled 1,255 pins to 1,128 pins for Rummel.  Max Oertling shot a 258 while R.J. Beecher backed him up with a big 255 game.

The Crusaders fired a 3,631 series to 3,594 for the Raiders allowing them to capture the crucial three bonus points for scoring the most pins and giving them the 14-13 victory.

R.J. Beecher won all three of his matches, adding games of 212 and 217 in a 684 series. Max Oertling contributed a 248 game, winning two matches as part of a 689 series. Kyle Schneider had games of 211-204-211 for a 626 series and Jonathan Fernandez shot 606, including a 238 game.

Brother Martin (3-0) will next face St. Augustine next Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.
