Bowling Gets Ready to Start the 2017 Season

$RK85ULWThe Crusader bowling team, under the direction of Coach Bruce Himbert ‘78, bowled the 2016 season with a PERFECT record of 17-0. Jonathan Fernandez’s 202-190 victory in the 10th frame of the state finals last year sealed the Crusaders victory, allowing them to bring home their second consecutive state title.  In the past three years, they have compiled an impressive 50-1 record. This season, all eyes will be on Cody Schaffer, Brenten Dupuy, Jonathan Fernandez, Hunter Dunn and the rest of the team to bring home another championship!

The Crusaders look to ‘strike’ up another successful season as they take on the Shaw Eagles on Thursday, January 19 at Westside Bowl for 3:30 p.m.

In addition, varsity bowlers Cody Schaffer and Will Oertling traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the Louisiana State Grand Prix Bowling Tournament before kicking off the 2017 bowling season. Cody finished in second place and Will finished in tenth place. The tournament attracted hundreds of the state’s best bowlers in two days of rigorous competition. Congratulations, Crusaders!
