Big Third Inning Sparks Win for Crusaders

_CAB3517A 15-run explosion in the third inning lifted the Brother Martin baseball squad (14-9) to a 20-4 win in five innings over St. Augustine at Wesley Barrow on Tuesday.

The Crusaders found themselves trailing 3-0 after two innings of play, but that all changed in the top of the third inning.

The Crusaders plated 15 runs in the third scoring on a walk by Jonathan Parker, a hit by pitch, a walk by Michael Kirsch, a walk by Jacob Parker, an RBI single by Kevin Stretzinger, a wild pitch, a bases loaded walk, a two-run error, a wild pitch, a walk by Chase Dolly, a sacrifice fly by Kirsch, a walk by Joel Bergeron, a bases loaded walk by Alex Guidry, and a wild pitch.

Brother Martin tacked on another five runs in the fourth. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Luke Bernard to open the scoring in the frame.

Mason Bonnafons lead things at the plate racking up four RBIs on two hits for the Crusaders.

Brother Martin will seek their 15th win of the season as they travel to LaPlace to face St. Charles Catholic on Wednesday, April 8th at 4 pm. Go ‘Saders!
