The Crusader varsity basketball team (11-4) started the new year traveling to Baton Rouge, LA to face Christian Life Academy. Brother Martin trailed by one point at the end of the 1st quarter, but the Crusader dominated Christian Life in the 2nd quarter outscoring their opponent 26-6 to take a 41-22 halftime lead. Brother Martin took control of the 3rd quarter and once again out-scored Christian Life 22-8. At the final buzzer, the Crusaders would finish with a 75-42 commanding victory over Christian Life Academy.
The top scorers for the Crusaders were Venji Wallis with 16 points, Vejon Wallis, Irv Smith, and Luke Walker with 10 points each, and Travis Epps finished with 9 points.
The Crusaders will face Salmen in the Conlin Gym on Tuesday, January 6th. JV will tip-off at 6 pm with the Varsity to follow.
