The Crusader baseball team ended a nine game skid on Saturday by securing a convincing 11-0 victory over district foe Archbishop Shaw. Junior pitcher Kirk Prest picked up the win after pitching six innings and striking out seven. Mason Bonnaffons and Dominic Robert both had RBI-singles in the first inning and Brother Martin took a 2-0 lead at the end of the first frame. In the fourth inning, the bats really came alive as the Crusaders rattled off five straight hits and took a 6-0 lead. Ben Wisniewski and Joel Bergeron both had RBI-singles and Morgan added another RBI on a sacrifice fly. Rounding out the scoring for the Crusaders were André Roevens with an RBI-single in the fifth inning, and Tré Morgan and Patrick Kennair both with RBIs in the seventh inning.
The Crusaders will look to build a winning streak as they host Archbishop Shaw on Tuesday, April 11 for 7 p.m. from Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.
