Baseball Players Receive Post Season Honors from The New Orleans Advocate
Three Crusader baseball players were named to the New Orleans Advocate’s First Team. Receiving those honors were:
Junior pitcher Corey Gaconi who finished with a 9-1 record, with a 1.51 ERA, and struck out 55 in 78.2 innings.
Senior shortstop Greg Deichmann who was named New Orleans Advocate’s Player of the Year, batted .354 with 11 homers, nine doubles two triples and 35 RBIs, drew 36 walks, and finished his career with a school-record 29 HRs.
Third baseman and cleanup hitter Owen Magee who hit .422 with 38 RBIs, five doubles, two triples with a .500 slugging percentage and .485 on-base percentage for the season.
Receiving honorable mention was also Crusader outfielder Daniel Lahare.
