Back to School Night Draws Hundreds of Crusader Families

Back-to-School Night, an annual tradition at Brother Martin, gave hundreds of families the chance on August 30 to ‘walk’ their son’s schedule, meet teachers and get to know other Crusader parents.

One of the school’s most popular events, parents followed their son’s daily class schedule, visiting each class and hearing from their son’s teachers about course expectations, upcoming projects, grading scales as well as campus activities. Along with participation in their sons’ morning daily prayer, families also heard the daily announcements so that they would become familiar with how their sons receive information regarding club/athletic meetings and school initiatives like Friday’s T-shirt Tennis Shoe Day to benefit our Texas ‘neighbors’.  Back to School Night_0943

Immediately after the Back to School event, families participated in a brief Parents Club Meeting and Social in the Tom and Gayle Benson Mall. Dr. Kraig de Lanzac ‘86, Parents Club President, introduced the very active members of the Parents Club Board and encouraged all in attendance to get involved in planning and/or attending the many upcoming activities. Families also heard from Principal Ryan Gallagher ‘00  about how proud he is of the outstanding faculty members who are taking care of teaching and forming their sons, both in and out of the classroom, and his hope that what the parents heard during Back to School Night reaffirmed their decision to become a part of the Brother Martin family.  Finally, along with some food and drink, members of the Parents Club helped parents with questions about volunteer opportunities and more.

Our Crusader families had a wonderful time, and the school enjoyed hosting them on campus!
