Austin McCann, a 2009 Crusader graduate, was recently featured on WWL TV for his sock company named Open Thread. Meg Farris reported on how this Crusader started his own sock company out of a simple act of kindness. McCann, who is now CEO of Open Thread, was a student at Brother Martin working on a class project helping the homeless community. He noticed that many homeless individuals were not wearing socks, shoes, etc. Combining his love for socks and helping the homeless he developed Open Thread. McCann commented that “if it wasn’t for the homeless man I met while volunteering at Brother Martin then Open Thread may never have come to past.” Click here to find out more about McCann and his passion for helping others.
