Are You Smarter than a Crusader at Trivia Night V?

On Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Benson Mall, Brother Martin Trivia Night V tested one’s knowledge of trivia. Miguel Sanchez ’00, James Maumus ’89 and Jeff Maumus ’97 of Challenge Entertainment and Live Trivia hosted this popular event for thirteen teams. They prepared for this night by studying trivia and by placing their ‘thinking caps’ on as they prepared to compete against fellow Crusader alumni, family, and friends. These teams sat on the edge of their seats for six rounds of questions throughout the night as they answered a variety of trivia questions about music, celebrities, history, sports, and more.  There was even a bonus round of Brother Martin trivia questions! This year, “Tom Benson’s Got a Six Pack” (David Farrens ’77, Andrew Gaudet ’08, Wesley Lockhart ’74, Ray Gaudet ’76, Dennis Farrens ’66 SA, and Scott Smuck) were crowned champions with “Here for the Crispitos” (Jimmy Ruckert ’03, Brett Mathes ’00, James Ferraro ’01, Taylor Gilbert ’03, George Hoof, and Tony Stauder ’12) finished as runners-up. “Tantric Pumping”(Michael Collins ’88, Craig Gremillion ’88, Vic Landry ’86, Bill Winchester ’88, and  Kraig de Lanzac ’86) surprised the guests by winning the Brother Martin bonus portion of the event as some lucky winner took home cash from the 50/50. Kraig de Lanzac summed up the night by stating that “Trivia Night has become one of my favorite Brother Martin Alumni events.  It’s a casual night in the Benson Mall with food, drink and a fun, spirited trivia competition with a team of friends. Whether you finish as the first-place team or if you are “just there for the crispitos,” Trivia Night is a great time.”

Participants were also treated to some great ‘brain food’ of crispitos (a Crusader favorite), pizza, hot dogs, and beverages which was prepared by Brother Martin Food Services.
