Cor Jesu graduate, Archbishop Gregory Aymond, presented the St. Timothy Award to newly graduated Brother Martin Crusaders Elias and Gabriel Levy and other Catholic high school students within the Archdiocese of New Orleans, highlighting their witnesses to God and their leadership in our faith community.

"The CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry held its annual Youth Leadership Celebration May 13 at Divine Mercy Church in Kenner.

Fourteen teenagers won the prestigious St. Timothy Award for their leadership in parish and school ministries. Archbishop Gregory Aymond and CYO director Adrian Jackson presented the awards.

The national St. Timothy Award is the highest award the Archdiocese of New Orleans can bestow upon a young person. The award seeks to recognize, from the diocesan level, outstanding youth who exemplify Christian service, Catholic leadership, and good moral standards.

Elias Levy '23, St. Clement of Rome, Metairie: Elias is a board member for his parish CYO and participated in mission work in San Antonio. He serves as president of student ministry at Brother Martin High School. His parish youth minister said: “What is truly notable about Eli is his tendency to separate himself from his own peer group in order to reach out to the younger members of our group and make sure that they feel included and welcome.”

Gabriel Levy '23, St. Clement of Rome, Metairie: Gabriel serves as a student ambassador and director of events for Brother Martin’s student ministry team. He serves on  the executive board of his parish CYO and is a member of the National Honor Society. His parish youth minister said: “Gabriel has an admirable moral compass. He never hesitates to speak up for what he believes and knows to be true and right. He has a keen sense of the difference between right and wrong, and never hesitates to voice that, even if his opinion is unpopular."

Congratulations, Gabriel and Elias, on this exemplary achievement - we are thankful for your witness for all our Crusaders, and we are all so proud of each of you!
