The 7th grade Honors Math class needed to use scatter plots and find an equation for the line of best fit in order to make a prediction of how many rubber bands are needed to drop their action figure from a 17 foot balcony. In the classroom, they found the distance the action figure dropped with 2 rubber bands, 3 rubber bands, and so on. Using their data, they made a scatter plot and drew a line of best fit. The class then tested their predictions by going outside and dropping their action figures from 17 feet.
