It was a ‘lucky’ night for alumni and friends at the annual Baton Rouge Chapter social on Saturday, August 19 at L’ Auberge Casino in Baton Rouge. Alumni and friends from the Baton Rouge- area joined the Director of Alumni Scott Corrente ’83, the Director of Development Kenny Spellman ’84, and the Director of School Services Barry Hebert ’74 at the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill. This Baton Rouge Chapter Social was a first for Corrente as the newly appointed Director of Alumni. Corrente remarked that “it is always great to gather with fellow alumni from various years and share high school stories.”
This year, the young alumni who are currently enrolled at LSU were eager to socialize and share stories with other alumni from Brother Martin, Cor Jesu, and St. Aloysius. Peter Castelluccio, a member of the Class of 1991, was excited about making a new connection with a current alum and friend. He stated that “Saturday’s gathering was a great opportunity to meet fellow Crusader alumni here in Baton Rouge. I enjoyed seeing some old friends and reminiscing about the past and catching up. I actually ran into one alumnus that I have played softball with for years and never even knew he graduated from Cor Jesu. What a small world! The Stadium Club worked well for hosting the event and the food was delicious. Can’t wait for next year’s event.”
In addition, alumni and guests were updated on current Crusader news: the renovations, the athletic and extracurricular events, as well as any academic achievements. The Alumni Office looks forward to returning to Baton Rouge for another event and encourages Baton Rouge- area alumni to visit the campus when they are in New Orleans.
