Alumni Dads Attend 10th Grade Alumni Dad Lunch

IMG_1629Crusaders in the tenth grade started their busy week off with Grandparents Day and with many of their classmates participating in the Sudden Impact program. This luncheon for Alumni dads and their son(s) provides another great opportunity to say thank you to our Crusader Dads and to welcome them back on campus.

On Wednesday, November 15, Director of Alumni Scott Corrente ’83 along with Kenny Spellman ’84 welcomed Crusaders whose fathers are members of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association to the annual Alumni Dad Lunch in the Tom and Gayle Benson Mall. Executive Vice President Greg Rando ’77 and faculty/staff were also in the Mall to greet some new and returning alumni. Kevin Morris ’89, a returning Alumni Dad, commented that “It’s sometime hard to believe that the young boys we once knew, are slowly emerging into mature, intelligent and holistically developed young men. I always look forward to the Brother Martin Alumni Lunch with my son(s) as it provides a great opportunity to ‘check in’ with them on these familiar grounds – to see how they are doing. Of course, we tell them our stories of what it was like in the old days when we attended, back before microwaves, cell phones and this mysterious “cloud” phenomenon.  But what a great opportunity to spend some time hearing about their day, the challenges they face, and the things they are looking forward to. If they only knew the secret that –  it’s really the best time of their lives. Thank you for the opportunity to come back to school and share this time with our sons!”

Crusader Alumni Dads and their son(s)were able to spend time together while eating lunch prepared by Food Services. Dads were also given some great Brother Martin giveaways from the Office of Alumni and were brought up to date on the great activities and events going on at school.

We look forward to seeing our Alumni Dads at Brother Martin for upcoming school and alumni events. As expressed by Scott Guirovich ’91, “I enjoy coming back to visit the campus and visiting with my son, Aaron.” A special thank you to all of our volunteers, alumni dads, and faculty / staff who assisted at the luncheon on Wednesday.
