On Saturday, April 12, Alumni and dads joined in a Day of Reflection and Mass on campus directed by Brother Ronald Hingle, S.C. ’78. Brother Ronnie’s theme for the day was “From Devotion to Compassion: A Contemporary Sacred Heart Spirituality.”
Participants were invited to engage in prayer, reflection, the Rosary, and the Stations of the Cross. Fr. Andrew Sanchez ’03 offered the sacrament of reconciliation, and Fr. Michael Schneller ’64 SA celebrated Liturgy in the James B. Branton Chapel to conclude the retreat. After Mass, all participants enjoyed lunch prepared by Dean Pigeon ’06 of Pigeon’s Catering.
This spiritual event provides a wonderful opportunity for alumni and dads in our faith community to celebrate their faith and devotion to our Lord. The day was memorialized with a wonderful group photo in front of the James B. Branton Chapel.
Each year, the committee recognizes a Legacy Family at the event. This year, we recognized Bill Fulham ’61 CJ, his 4 sons (Patrick Fulham ’86, Michael Fulham ’87, Timothy Fulham ’89, and Daniel Fulham ’93), and his grandson, Will Fulham ’17. Bill’s Father-in-Law, the late Edward Koehl ’34, attended St. Aloysius.
We would like to thank the Day of Reflection committee members for helping to orchestrate this wholesome event: Chairman Danny Richard ’72, Robert Blake ’86, Judge Bob Burns ’62 SA, Guy Cresson ’71, Bro. Bernie Couvillion, S.C., John Hodges ’62 SA, Donnie Midkiff ’03, John Person ’73, Randy Oddo ’62 SA, Lance Ranlett ’91, Louis Savoye ’61 SA, and Wayne Wellmeier ’86.
