Brother Martin alumnus Edward J. Branley ’76 has released a pictorial history book of New Orleans Jazz from Arcadia Publishing. Publishing on Monday, 4/7/2014, this new title celebrates the development of jazz and the legacy of jazz pioneers in over 200 vintage images.
Edward J. Branley, 55, is a native of New Orleans. A former high school history teacher, Edward’s passion for New Orleans comes from riding public transit daily during high school, from his school in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, to his home in the suburbs.
A 1976 graduate of Brother Martin High School (yes, in New Orleans, that’s important), Branley also earned a degree in Secondary Education from the University of New Orleans, in 1980. His passion for the streetcars and buses of New Orleans led to his first book for Arcadia, New Orleans: The Canal Streetcar Line.
