Acting it Out

IMG_2994Crusaders in Ms. Scott’s freshman English class put their acting skills to the test in their latest class assignment. In the auditorium, freshmen took to the stage for reader’s theater. This activity helps students experience the drama of the gods and goddesses in the Ancient Greek myth of Jason and the Argonaut’s quest for the Golden Fleece. Students read passages of the myth and record themselves to analyze meaning behind the story. Reader’s Theatre is an instructional activity aimed at making complex texts come to life for students, allowing them to read, hear, and feel the plots and motivations of characters.
