Professors from The University of New Orleans and Dillard University held the first of a two-part writing project with all members of the junior class. Students completed a timed, in-class writing exercise modeled on the ACT writing test in their English class. The college professors and members of our English Department scored the essays, which were returned to the students with classroom presentations of samples at various score levels. Students will complete a second essay prompt later in the Spring to test for writing improvement. This activity complements the weekly standardized test preparation held for all grade levels and is targeted for the juniors who are beginning to take the ACT test.
