Academic Games Travels to Tennessee

2014_BMAG_NationalsThe Brother Martin Academic Games team attended the 49th annual AGLOA National Tournament held April 25 – 28 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brother Martin’s participants took part in four distinct academic competitions with nearly 800 other students from several different states.

In order to qualify for the national tournament each year, students must compete in all local Academic Games competition and be ranked highest overall. Brother Martin sent eight of its eligible students to Nationals—Joseph Arrigo, Nick Brilli, Kevin Broadbridge, Gabriel Cespedes, Austin Kain, Dominique Lousteau, Hunter Mathas, and Adam Peters.

Students who took home individual awards were:

  • 2nd Place, Junior On-Sets: Hunter Mathas
  • 3rd Place, Junior On-Sets: Austin Kain
  • 2nd Place, Junior Presidents Team*: Dominique Lousteau
  • 3rd Place, Junior Propaganda Team*: Adam Peters
  • 3rd Place, Senior Equations: Nick Brilli
  • 9th Place, Senior Presidents: Joseph Arrigo
  • 4th Place, Senior Sweepstakes: Joseph Arrigo
  • 3rd Place, Senior On-Sets Team*: Joseph Arrigo, Nick Brilli
  • 2nd Place, Senior Equations Team*: Joseph Arrigo, Nick Brilli
  • 2nd Place, Senior Sweepstakes Team*: Joseph Arrigo, Nick Brilli

*Players were part of conglomerate teams with other New Orleans area students.
