On Saturday, January 26th, 2013 four cadets from the Brother Martin NJROTC participated in the Area 8 Academic Challenge. The event, a quiz bowl-style tournament, was between 16 NJROTC units from throughout the Southeastern United States. The Brother Martin Team consisting of Cadet Chief Petty Officer Daniel Martinez, Cadet Lieutenant Austin Falcon, Cadet Chief Petty Officer Daniel Brignac and Cadet Seaman Bryan Barry placed 5th overall.
