Our science department conducted several lab experiments with their students throughout the day. In Chemistry classes, sophomores and juniors took part in a Glass Bending Lab where they learned how to safely use a Bunsen burner while also learning the technique of bending glass. This knowledge will be used in a later experiment to collect gas from a reaction.
Biology students learned the intricacies of the microscope in their Microscope Lab, knowledge that they will use in labs throughout the school year. Additionally, the 7th Grade Life Science Honors class conducted an experiment using the Scientific Method. Students followed the steps of the Scientific Method and recorded data while testing different solutions for a reaction to occur. Using their data, students were required to report on the experiment’s conclusions.
