A Crusader's Senior Retreat Experience

P1070072“My senior retreat was more than just an overnight trip and a holiday from school.  It was a spiritually enriching experience that left me with a more positive self-image.  I learned more about myself over these past two days than I have learned in the past several years.  Over my middle school and my high school years, my focus was primarily on my academic and extracurricular development, but this particular retreat has focused on my spiritual and social growth.  Many of the concepts covered will be quite beneficial and helpful as I move forward with my life.  I was able to realize strengths that I never knew that I possessed, and the talks revealed positive personality traits of Christian manhood.  My self-perception has shifted into a more positive light though self-discovery and small group activities.

One of the most interesting physical aspects was the Mass that took place on Sunday night.  I have never been a part of a Mass that had encompassed multiple locations, and the mass was very impacting.  Also, after Mass, sitting by the fire was quite relaxing as I was able to enjoy the fellowship of other seniors, something that I know will occur only a few more times this year.  I am aware now how those great truths of life can greatly help me prepare for the changes that will take place over the next several months, as I close out my six years at Brother Martin and face the challenges of the real world.”
