The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) recently announced their Academic All-American selections for the 2021-2022 school year. Seventeen Brother Martin Wrestlers are represented on this list. Rocco Horvath '22 was the only Louisiana student-athlete selected to the First Team. Kent Burandt '23 was the only Louisiana student-athlete selected to the Second Team. The other Crusaders mentioned on this list have been given an Honorable Mention.
Brother Martin's Head Wrestling Coach, Andrew Nicola, spoke about the achievements of these young men:
"These 17 young men are a testament to the core values of our program. The expectation is to demand excellence academically, athletically, and socially. It should come as no surprise to anyone that many of the guys that earned a podium finish at the state tournament also earned a spot on this list. We are very proud of the work our student-athletes put in on a daily basis."
