Wrestling coach Robbie Dauterive ’84 has been selected as the 2015-2016 Outstanding Boys Prep Coach of the year by The Greater New Orleans Sports Awards Committee, which is sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Dauterive was recognized at the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
During his 11 years as a head coach, Dauterive and his teams have claimed eight state championship titles and finished as state runners-up twice. In February of 2016, Dauterive and his wrestling team captured its fifth consecutive Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Division I wrestling team state title. He has been named New Orleans area all-metro wrestling coach of the year nine times. In addition, he was recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as the Louisiana Coach of the Year in 2014. His dual meet career record is 210-12.
In addition, awards for Greater New Orleans Amateur Athletes of the month were also distributed to various athletes from the 2015-2016 school year. Bruce Jordan- Swilling (football) was honored with the award from his September 2015 athlete of the month award.
