On Monday, May 18th, 2026, we celebrated Mr. David Falati after he finished teaching his last class at Brother Martin High School.

"Mr. David Falati joined the Brother Martin faculty in 1984. Over those 42 years, a lot has changed in education and, certainly, at Brother Martin. And Mr. Falati has changed with those times, a pure example of dynamic fidelity to the Mission of evangelizing students through education, one of the hallmarks of the worldwide institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.

Mr. Falati has made his life as an educator. His dedication to teaching and learning is evident in his professional versatility: his resume includes multiple state teacher certifications, years of experience teaching Physical Education, Mathematics, and, most notably over his many years at Brother Martin, Social Studies. At one time, Mr. Falati served as our Bowling Coach, Jr. High Basketball coach, and Jr. High baseball coach, and for years he lent a hand driving the school bus for a number of athletics teams, extracurricular clubs, and student-led service organizations to countless after-school events and competitions.

For nearly 40 years, Mr. Falati served as the Student Work Study Supervisor in addition to his classroom responsibilities. In each of his positions inside and outside of the classroom, Mr. Falati has provided consistent, firm, and fair guidance and personal attention, working with our students to instill self-discipline that aims for them to be at their best today and for many years after they’ve graduated from Brother Martin.

Mr. Falati has met the needs of our changing world, and ultimately, he has met students where they are while demanding that they strive to get to where they need to be through a commitment to Academic Excellence. In all that he has done, most of the time in an understated way that draws very little attention to himself, Mr. Falati has done his part to help ensure that – for 42 years – more than 40,000 students leave Brother Martin knowing that God loves them. Mr. Falati, in the final minutes of your final day of classroom instruction, we all thank you for your tireless commitment to Brother Martin High School." — Principal Ryan Gallagher '00

Words fail when trying to express how grateful we are to Mr. David Falati for all that he has given for the sake of the young men of Elysian Fields Avenue. All we can say, is thank you.
