The Brother Martin Crusader Rugby Team opened its 25th season with its annual game versus alumni on Saturday, January 3, 2026. More than 30 Alumni rugby team members joined the current Brother Martin High School Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for a spirited and thrilling game of touch rugby. This annual alumni game continues the tradition of fellowship and camaraderie that are hallmarks of the game of rugby. Former team captains gave words of encouragement and advice to current players, wishing them the best of luck as they begin their 2025-2026 Rugby season as reigning State Champions!

Later that evening, family, friends, and alumni attended a banquet to celebrate 25 years of Brother Martin Rugby at Rock ‘n’ Bowl. The late James deBrueys ’06 (award accepted by his father Jim deBrueys), Adam Ducoing ’06, and Cullen Glennon ’07 were introduced as the initial class of the Brother Martin Crusader Rugby Hall of Fame. Head Coach Gary Giepert ’80 was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for his time and dedication as the Brother Martin High School Rugby coach for the past 25 years. Brother Martin will play its first game of the season versus Jesuit this Saturday, January 10th, at 12:45 p.m. at the rugby pitch in City Park (at Harrison and Marconi).
