Kyle Millet, Andrew Cooper, and Brady Gueydan
Brother Martin High School would like to congratulate Crusaders of the Class of 2025 who have recently been presented with Youth Leadership Awards by the Archdiocese of New Orleans:
Brady Gueydan '25, Outstanding Parish Youth Leadership Award, St. Edward the Confessor
Kyle Millet '25, Outstanding Parish Youth Leadership Award, St. Edward the Confessor
Andrew Cooper '25, St. Timothy Award, St. Ann
Brother Martin senior Andrew Cooper has been awarded the esteemed St. Timothy Award. Sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), the St. Timothy Award is the highest award the Archdiocese can bestow upon a young person. This national award seeks to recognize outstanding youth who exemplify Christian service, Catholic leadership and good moral standards. The young people who receive this award are outstanding in both their local church parish, as well as the larger archdiocesan community. They have displayed high ideals and have grown spiritually while offering their time and talents in the service of their church parish and their communities at large.
On this Holy Thursday, we are reminded of the archetypal model of selfless service, that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it." (John 13:14-17)
Brady, Kyle, and Andrew have followed our Lord's example in taking up the cross of selflessness in service to their parishes, not seeking reward or acknowledgement, but simply giving their all to the Lord. We thank them for living out their witness to Catholic values and for modeling selfless service, not unlike that of the founding charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, for all of us.
