Over the past week, members of the Brother Martin 7th grade class went on the 3rd Annual 7th Grade Trip to Washington DC. On the way up to DC, the group stopped in Pigeon Forge, TN near Gatlinburg for a night of go-karts and putt-putt at The Track. On day 1 in DC, the group found themselves touring the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol building. They spent the afternoon in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History before having dinner at the famous Ben’s Chili Bowl. After dinner, the group visited the historic monuments.
On the second day in DC, the 7th graders first visited Arlington National Cemetery where they witnessed the Changing of the Guard ceremony and saw the JFK burial site. Before lunch, the group went on a tour of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving where they learned the process to print and make money. After an afternoon at the Smithsonian Museum of American History and Smithsonian Museum for Air and Space, the young Crusaders headed to Nationals Park for a break from the sites.
On the way back home, stops were made at Kings Dominion Amusement Park in Ashland, VA and Dollywood Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, TN.
