SUCCESSFUL FIRST 7th GRADE TRIP
Departing May 29, the 7th graders enjoyed a show and dinner at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The two days spent in Washington, D.C. complemented the American History class students took during the school year. They toured Arlington National Cemetery, ate lunch and shopped at Union Station, toured the U.S. Capitol, met and took a picture with Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise on the steps of the Capitol, explored the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, and attended the Washington Nationals vs Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. The second day in Washington, the group took a picture at the White House, visited the National Archives, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the International Spy Museum. That evening, they walked to see the monuments. After spending two days in our nation’s capitol, the Crusaders enjoyed Kings Dominion Theme Park in Virginia and Dollywood Splash Country in Tennessee. They arrived back home June 5.
