The entire 7th grade class participated in a “Day of Service” last week. After several weeks of academic study and cross curricular lessons and activities related to the care for the elderly, the young Crusaders visited area homes for the elderly–Lafon, Ferncrest Manor, St. Luke’s, Our Lady of Wisdom, St. Margaret’s, the Poydras Home, and Chateau de Notre Dame–to interact with the residents and to do service work such as cleaning and gardening. Upon their return to campus, the 7th graders attended Mass in the James B. Branton Chapel. Thank you, Crusader 7th graders and all your teachers, for this outstanding service learning experience!
