The Athletic Department hosted a convocation honoring the Crusader soccer program and the district 6-I varsity champions. Previously, the Crusaders had won the district title in 2014 and brought it back to Elysian Fields this season. Coaches Stephen McAnespie (varsity), Joesy Portillo (junior varsity), and Carlos Martinez (eighth grade) spoke on behalf of their respective teams, highlighting team accomplishments at the convocation. During season, the Crusaders made it all the way to the quarterfinal round, but were outscored by Catholic High. That was their 11th quarterfinal appearance in the past 12 seasons. Soccer head coach Stephen McAnespie also concluded the evening by recognizing varsity players receiving individual awards.
