The 2016 Brother Martin Tennis Tournament was rained out on its original date in March; however, the weather on the “make-up” date made it worth the wait. Cool temperatures and clear skies favored the players at U.N.O Tennis Center last Friday. 152 players took to the courts in 9 Ladies’ divisions and 3 Men’s divisions. The “Parade of Prizes” gave attendees a chance to win hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, tennis lessons and various other gifts. The 50/50 sent a lucky winner home with some extra cash. Chris Dazet, Tennis Director at Metairie Country Club, served as tournament director. Kerri Becker, Yvette Canoura, Karen Fair, Missy Forschler, Jeanne Gallo, Danielle Guidry, Lisa Lozes, Ron McDonald ’82, Cheri Miller, Billy Moore ’80, Liz Nail, Kathleen Roevens and Lee Stall ’82 served on the tournament committee.
