The Brother Martin Athletic Department has announced the upcoming football schedule for the 2016 season. The Crusaders will kick- off the season at a scrimmage in August. The Crusaders will also face fellow Brothers of the Sacred Heart school, E.D. White, in the TGMC/HTV/BOSH Jamboree at Nicholls State University on Friday, August 26, 2016. District play will open with the New District 9-5A addition John Curtis at Zephyr Stadium on Friday, September 23, 2016. This will be the first time the Catholic League will play in the 10,000-seat baseball park in Metairie. The decision to play on the gridiron at Zephyr Field was made by the Athletic Director Scott Williams and football head coach Mark Bonis, but has been in discussion since last year.
The 2016 season will feature games on Thursday night, eight Friday, and two Saturday night. One of those games will be played at Hoss Memtsas. The homecoming game will be played against the Archbishop Rummel Raiders on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Tad Gormley for 7 p.m. The football team has worked diligently in spring practice, and this past Thursday marked the end of spring practice with the annual Crimson and Gold scrimmage. The Crusaders ended their 2015 season with a record of 8-3 losing to Catholic High in the quarterfinals.
