Tommy Mitchell ’79, Patrick Bouchon ’16, and Rod West ’86
On Friday, April 15, the Brother Martin community celebrated their Easter Liturgy in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnsaium. Following the Mass, Mr. Rod West ’86 addressed faculty, staff, and students at the annual Alumnus of the Year Assembly. Development Director/Assistant to the President Tommy Mitchell ’79 introduced Mr. West prior to Mr. West’s speech. In conclusion, Mr. West was presented with his former Brother Martin football jersey by Mr. Mitchell and Patrick Bouchon ’16. Mr. Bouchon will be attending University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2016 where Mr. West received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Previously, Mr. West was honored by the Brother Martin Board of Directors as the 2016 Allen J. Ellender Alumnus of the Year recipient at the New Orleans Marriott in March. Mr. West remains close to Brother Martin having served on the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Board of Directors, guest judge at the Crusader Cook-off, Crimson & Gold Network speaker and as an annual supporter of the Celebration of the Crest. While at Brother Martin he was a Golden Crusader and a James B. Branton Award recipient.
