The Crusader baseball team (11-9-1) started the season strong winning games in the WGNO Tournament and the Jesuit Tournament. They opened district play with John Curtis, but were defeated by scores of 11-1 and 10-0. The Crusaders then took on Rummel and dropped two hard fought games by scores of 7-4 and 12-9. Next up is a non-district game against St. Charles Catholic on Saturday, April 1 in LaPlace for 11 a.m. The game will be streamed live on SportsNOLA.com and will start a few minutes prior the scheduled first pitch. Danny Riehm will broadcast the action for Saturday’s game. The Crusaders are also set to take on the Jesuit Blue Jays on Thursday, April 20 from John Ryan Stadium. Ken Trahan and Danny Riehm will serve as the broadcast team for the First NBC Bank Prep Showcase’s baseball coverage for the sixth consecutive season.
