The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater New Orleans Chapter held its annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Thursday, November 16th at the Hyatt Regency. Mr. and Mrs. Tom ’44 and Gayle Benson were in attendance and received the association’s Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year Award.
Mr. and Mrs. Benson continue to show their generosity throughout the community by giving repeatedly to the support and care of charitable and civic causes. In the community, the Saints organization has donated more than $15 million to charitable organizations, goods and services throughout the Greater New Orleans area, and over 45 agencies have received monetary donations due to the Bensons’ generosity. In November of 2013, the Benson’s established the Bro. Nicholas Geinsenberg BUilding Endowment at Brother Martin.
