On Saturday, December 2, the Ladies of the Shield hosted their annual Holiday Home Tour in charming Old Metairie. The Patron Party was held under the grand oaks at 105 Mulberry Drive. The other homes provided on the tour were 12 Farnham Place, 100 Homestead Avenue, and 211 Sycamore Drive.
This year, guests had a sneak peek of two homes, 105 Mulberry Drive which was featured in The New Orleans Advocate (written by Stephanie Bruno and photos by Cheryl Gerber)and 100 Homestead Avenue featured on the cover of The Times Picayune's Inside Out (written by Sarah Bonnette and photos by Chris Granger of Nola.com | The Times-Picayune).
During the day, guests toured homes, decorated in the Christmas spirit, while visiting with friends, old and new. Each home was distinctive and unique and ranged from traditional to modern. From a pool and cabana area for the perfect outdoor soiree, a kitchen for a gourmet chef, a home theater for the perfect movie night, to a large den and dining area for great family gatherings - the homes were dazzling with glamour.
"The Brother Martin Holiday Home Tour is a wonderful start to the Christmas season each year. The generosity and hard work of so many continuously make this Ladies of the Shield event an overwhelming success in reaching our current goal of completing the Brother Jean Sorbet, S.C. Student Activities Endowment," explained Eri

Visitors were also encouraged to do some Christmas shopping while visiting the boutique held at the Lion’s Club of Metairie. Patrons came together as a community and worked together to benefit Brother Martin High School. Cissy Yakelis commented, "it is amazing to see how the Holiday Home Tour has grown in 12 years. We are truly blessed by the many donors, homeowners, and volunteers that make this such a special day. What a great way to begin the Christmas Season!"
All funds raised continue to benefit the Brother Jean Sobert, S.C. Student Activities Endowment at Brother Martin. All sponsors will receive recognition in the Holiday Home Tour program, the Century II, the annual report, and featured on the school’s website.
