Craig Zeller, a 2002 graduate of Brother Martin High School, is considered an essential Partner in Mission at Brother Martin with over 15 years of experience in the fields of education and technology.

Zeller currently serves as technology coordinator and computer science department chair. He designs and oversees the continual renewal of hardware and software technology both inside and outside the classroom. As technology coordinator, he is noted by his colleagues as being creative and original, tapping into students’ interest in classes including digital media, fine arts survey: animation and fine arts survey: game development.

Zeller, along with his department, supports every student, faculty, and staff member and has been especially responsive and effective in meeting student and faculty/staff needs in the COVID-19 era of remote learning.

Zeller wrote most of the scripts and recorded quality instructional videos for all of the faculty and staff that enabled them to be a competent remote/hybrid teacher. Zeller also assisted with the planning of all professional development opportunities, followed changes in the law that governs student internet use and assured that Brother Martin conformed and adapted to innovative uses of technology. Each year, he looks for new elements to add to his own courses’ curricula to ensure his students have an understanding of emerging technologies and that students can be hands-on with their personal learning.

Zeller moderates the Academic Games and CyberPatriot teams. His clubs have won numerous awards and championships. For the 2020-2021 season, the Open Division CyberPatriot team was ranked first in the state, and the NJROTC team placed second in the state. The Academic Games teams take individual and team honors each year at local tournaments. At the 2017 Academic Games National Tournament, Zeller’s team of seniors placed first in the overall Sweepstakes category when they became the national champions in the games of Propaganda, Presidents, and On-Sets.

Zeller is an executive board member for both the New Orleans Academic Games League and the Academic Games Leagues of America and has co-chaired a committee tasked with bringing Academic Games to districts that have had to adapt to online competitions this school year.
Zeller holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Tulane University and a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix.
