Brother Martin Crusaders Win on National Championship Soccer Team

"Today, they are a true brotherhood."

"Around 15 years ago, the New Orleans Spartans Club began as an idea from some parents. Today, it draws teens from all backgrounds, public and private schools. A quarter of the boys are on scholarship, sponsored by local businessmen who love the sport and believe in nurturing not only the agility of your feet but the character of your soul.

On July 15, coach and former soccer player Lea Westlake guided them to win the national championship in Tampa, or as they now call it, “Champa.” It was a nail-biter, ending in a 2 to 2 tie. Then, in 30 minutes of O.T., they scored twice!"

Six Brother Martin Crusader soccer team members played on this team, in this exciting championship game, and went on to seize the 16U USYS Boys National Presidents Cup:

Hudson Cammarata ‘27
Nathan Wellman ‘27
Torrin Rogers ‘27
Kaden Rossi ‘27
Owen Turner ‘27
Jake Cammarata 28

Congratulations to our Crusaders and the entire New Orleans Spartans Club family.
