Brother Martin’s Academic Games team is sending seven students to the 50th Academic Games National Tournament in late April. To make it to Nationals, our students must compete all year long and perform well in four games related to different subjects.
Adam Peters, was the Propaganda champion, On-Sets champion, 4th Place overall in Equations, 3rd Place overall in Presidents, and took 1st Place in the Sweepstakes award in his division.
Dominique Lousteau, who is an 11th grader, was the overall champion in the 11th-12th grade division. He was the overall winner in On-Sets and place high in the other three games.
Other students in the high school divisions were individual winners in the games or sweepstakes. Plus, the Junior team (9th-10th graders) won On-Sets, Presidents, and Equations, and they placed 2nd in Propaganda. The Senior team (11th-12th) won On-Sets and Presidents and placed 2nd in Propaganda.
Joseph Arrigo, who is graduating this year, placed 2nd overall. In Joseph’s Academic Games career, he has been the overall sweepstakes winner of his division four times and placed in the Top 3 three other times. He has won Presidents four years in a row and placed 2nd the year before his streak and won the year before that. This will be his 8th or 9th year going to Nationals.
This is the 4th year in a row that Brother Martin has won the NOAGL Senior Division Presidents Tournament.
This is the 5th year in a row that a Brother Martin student has won the NOAGL Senior Division Sweepstakes Award. In the past 10 years, we have had a Brother Martin player win the award seven times and six BM students place 2nd.
This is the 3rd year in a row that Brother Martin has had the NOAGL Junior Division Sweepstakes Award winner.
