Recently, the NJROTC Unit left for its annual trip to the USS Alabama and Naval Aviation Museum in Mobile, AL. Cadets toured the USS Alabama, a battleship from World War II, and USS Drum, a submarine from the same war. On these tours, the young cadets learned bits of basic seamanship and Naval jargon. Cadets then spent Friday night aboard the USS Alabama. Saturday morning, the Unit left the Mobile for Naval Air Station, Pensacola. Once on base, the unit visited the National Naval Aviation Museum. Cadets toured the museum learning the history of United States military and Naval aviation beginning with the earliest biplanes, spanning the entirety of the Twentieth Century, including the planes both World Wars, and the aircraft of the Cold War and those conflicts associated with it. The Unit returned to Brother Martin Saturday afternoon with newfound military knowledge and high morale.
